The brief

St Edward’s School already had an established set of brand illustrations, including a distinctive skyline of its buildings and a tree. The school wanted to extend this visual language with a new collection of illustrations for its promotional materials.

The brief was to create something that felt connected to the existing identity while bringing in new imagery inspired by the school’s architecture, decorative details and surroundings.

The approach

I developed a linocut-inspired style that built on the existing two-tone vector illustrations. This introduced a different texture and character while keeping the work recognisably part of the school’s visual identity.

The final collection comprised four illustrations: a decorative gate and three arched scenes depicting Oxford, the school and the riverside.

The result

The illustrations extended the school’s existing visual identity, giving it a wider range of imagery for use across different promotional materials. They have been used in print advertising and on the school website.
